Works completed on prestigious flood alleviation scheme

Project Dewatering (PDL) has completed works at this south east residential flood alleviation scheme. The project is one of many commissioned by the Environment Agency to provide flood protection to residential homes in high risk areas of the country.

Working for the main contractor, on this Environment Agency project, PDL were responsible for the installation of the groundwater pumping wells. The well system centres around 16 large diameter (700mm completion) wells.

PDL used a unique large diameter drilling method developed by PDL’s parent company, Hölscher Wasserbau. This drilling method, which has not previously been available in the UK, allows PDL to provide a cost-effective approach for well installation.

The project is one of many commissioned by the Environment Agency to provide flood protection to residential homes in high risk areas of the country.
